About the trip

Pen Y Fan needs no introductions being the highest Mountain in South Wales, our route will approach Pen Y Fan from the South East giving exceptional views of our target and the Central Brecon Beacons before reaching the summit.

The route will pass waterfalls as we head up onto the mountains with the best views of glacial valleys in the area. On the way to we will climb Fan Y Big, for that compulsory photo on the "Diving Board" and Cribyn before climbing Pen Y Fan the tough way! After Pen Y Fan we will visit Corn Du to see the glacier lake before heading back to the car park along another glacier carved ridge.

This is a truly memorable hike that provides the best way to experience Pen Y Fan.

The route is approximately 18km (11 miles) with a total ascent of 850m (2,800ft) and therefore a good level of fitness will be required.
